About

In 1996, after 10+ years working as an executive in advertising both in New York and San Francisco, Cece Kaufman decided to follow her true passion into the field of Interior Design. Having completed the four-year U.C. Berkeley Extension Certificate Program in Interior Design & Interior Architecture, she went to work for Pat Kuleto Restaurants (PKR). As a design assistant at PKR, she worked on all aspects of the design maintenance of Boulevard, Jardiniere and Farallon restaurants in San Francisco.

This led to a four year working relationship with Maria Tenaglia Designs and Thompson Planning & Design (TP&D), where she served as a Junior Designer on a number of restaurant projects including 727 Pine in Seattle, WA and Left Bank in Pleasant Hill, CA. Working with Maria, Cece also honed her skills in high-end residential design on projects including kitchens, family rooms, and master bathroom designs.

This exposure to high-end design work led her to Ann Brown Interiors in San Francisco. Here Cece worked side-by-side with Ann on a number of traditional, classically elegant San Francisco projects using many custom suppliers to produce one-of-a-kind elements for showplace style homes.

In 2000 Cece took time off after the birth of her first child only to be coaxed back into work by the wonderful opportunity to work with TP&D on the Pacific's Edge Restaurant project at the Park Hyatt Hotel (Highlands Inn) in Carmel, CA.

Since then Cece has had many creative opportunities working with Clients from small and large scale residential projects to retail and hospitality spaces. She enjoys all aspects of the design process, but her true passion comes from help solve Client problems...whether they be space planning, budgetary or unclear design vision...all while maintaining calm and, hopefully, a sense of humor.

Cece lives in San Francisco with her husband Dan and can often be seen cheering on a team at a UC Berkeley sporting event or walking the beach at Pacifica while her husband surfs. She has two children, Jake and Tatum, both are Cal Bears! Cece doesn't have any pets...yet.
